SharePoint 2013 Error "Uninstall App for SharePoint': Method not found: 'System.String Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAppInstance.get_AppPrincipalId()'"

I just started App development with SharePoint 2013 and I got this error when I tried to Install one of the Apps I created with VS2010.

Uninstall App for SharePoint': Method not found: 'System.String Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAppInstance.get_AppPrincipalId()'.


I haven't found any solution yet but one of the forums has suggested that there could be a mismatch between the version of SharePoint and the version of the tools installed on your computer.

any ideas?
