No Required Field Validation on Sharepoint designer workflow form fields?

I was working on designer worklow and was using "Collect data form User (Output to Variable)" action. Here workflow created a new page for approval and to my surprise the fields used in this form does not have Required Field validation. Even though they have "*"  sign but the validation does not work.

Anyone?
