Cannot Delete Subsites in SharePoint Online - Office 365 "Error Specified method is not supported"

You might see this error while trying to delete a subsite or a site in your SharePoint Online site.


Error - "Error Specified method is not supported.."

Besides trying our hands-on Delete Options in "Content and Structure" and Site's Delete Web link the best option that we followed which actually solved our issue was using SharePoint designer

The below steps should allow you to delete a site and or sub site. If you could give them a try I would really appreciate it.

1. You will need SharePoint Designer 2010 which can be downloaded for free from here; www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

2. Once you have SPD 2010 you will want to launch it

3. Click File

4. Sites

5. Open Site

6. Type in the URL of your SharePoint site, for instance https://contoso.sharepoint.com/

7. Click Open

8. You will be brought to a new page, on the left hand side below Site Objects you'll notice a button that says Subsites, click this

9. Click on the URL of the sub site that you would like to have deleted

10. Now from the ribbon click on Delete Site
