Office 365 Open PDF's directly into Adobe Reader

Ok so according to the community forums we should now be able to open PDF's directly into Adobe Reader without downloading them from sharePoint Online.

The fix was pushed using second Update to SharePoint Online (SPO) which i guess should have been deployed to my enviornment. Another stange requirenmnet though was that "users must have the latest Adobe Reader version (10.1.2) installed: http://get.adobe.com/reader/" hummm so this is what i guess we dont have and truly we dobt want to have, so is there no solution of opening PDF directly from Office 365 site without this?
